Brings an intense gourmand note with smoky dimension which matches well in ambery or fruity accords. Good association with woody, ambery and vanilla notes.

The SFE process preserves all the facets and the natural profile identity to guarantee a high purity extract.

Process

Supercritical Fluid Extraction (SFE) is a technology in which carbon dioxide, put beyond its critical point (73 bars and 30°C), becomes a supercritical fluid with special properties.

Sourcing

dsm-firmenich has chosen the best qualities of coffee from Central and South America, as well as from other recognized regions along the Tropical Belt. To obtain high quality coffee, one must choose the best coffee cherries, while meticulous harvest and maturation are imperative. While approximately 60 species of coffee are identified, just two are mainly grown and used. Coffea Arabica or Arabica Coffee, accounting for 85-90% of world production, grows at high altitudes (Central America, South America, East Africa) and contains between 1.1% and 1.7% of caffeine.

Colombia

This coffee comes from San Roque in the Antioquia region near Medellín, Colombia, an area deeply rooted in coffee heritage despite ongoing challenges from climate change and economic pressures. The variety holds Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) status and Fairtrade/Max Havelaar certification, ensuring ethical and sustainable production. Cultivated on smallholder farms, with 96% under 5 hectares, it reflects a strong community-based model. Grown at 1,200 to 1,800 meters on volcanic soils, the beans benefit from ideal terroir. Colombia’s equatorial climate allows two harvests per year. Hand-picked and wet-processed, this coffee reveals a vibrant profile with notes of red and exotic fruits, a delicate body, and a lively character.
