The olfactive profile is rich, with musky, sweet, powdery and floral facets.
It is also slightly animalic, fruity and anisic, with a good tenacity.
AMBRETTE ABS is widely used as a light musk bottom note for delicate florals, as well as an accessory note in oriental perfumes.
A primary extraction with a volatile solvent on fresh or dry biomass yields to a Concrete or Resinoid.
The Absolute is obtained via a second purification step in the process.

The oil is solid at room temperature, thus called "Ambrette abs".
This ingredient is both convenient for perfumery and flavor applications.
